Houston and Azusa Connect - Greater Houston Prayer Gathering

GOD, in His eternal purpose, made Houston the preparation ground for the famous but now paled Azusa Street Revival that birthed the modern-day global Pentecostal movement.

William Seymour, the man GOD used to ignite the Azusa Street Revival, received his biblical education at a Bible college founded by Charles Parham and located at 503 Rusk Street in the heart of the City of Houston. The college ground is today the site of a large federal building. From Houston, Seymour received the call to pastor a Church in Los Angeles from where GOD used him to ignite the revival that began in the Bonnie Brae House and spread worldwide.

AZUSA STREET REVIVAL 1906-1908

In March 2000, I was in New Orleans on the LORD’S assignment (walking the streets with the banner proclaiming “America! Return to the Lord Your GOD” and praying 2 Chronicles over the city) when I had the LORD said to me, “return to Houston and tell Mayor Brown you want to hold a prayer meeting at the steps of the City Hall. At that time, I knew nothing about William Seymour’s sojourn in Houston, Texas. However, today, looking at Houston as the most diverse city in America (every known nationality, language, and tongue lives in Houston) and the synergy of prayer for revival across the Greater Houston Metro Area, I believe God wants to complete what He began in Houston in 1903 when William Seymour first moved to Houston.

I am convinced that the set time is now. God is ready to use the Churches and Ministries in the Greater Houston Metro Houston area that are working together at a grass-roots level to ignite the awaited “last days” revival fire that will spread across the nations of the earth.“Revival Now Houston” could not have come at a better time than now. The LORD has mobilized the nations and tongues from over the world to Houston for such a time like this. We, the Churches in the Greater Houston Metro Area stand in one accord and we say Come LORD JESUS and take Your place in Houston, in the United States of America, and all the nations and languages represented in the Greater Houston Meto Area.
